We Didn't Start the Fire, 1990s-Today!!

In Billy Joel’s song “We didn’t Start the Fire” he traces events in U.S. history from the late 1940s to 1989.  Time has been flying by since and it is your job to build off of Joel’s song!   You will create 2 original verses (2 lines each, for a total of 4 lines) that discuss events from the 1990s and the 2000s AND that are in the same rhythm scheme as the original song.  With your partner you must research the last two decades and choose what you consider to be the MOST important aspects that should go down in history.  You can include political, economical, and social events, people, things, etc. Once you and your partner have researched and written your verses:

(1) Create a blog post to share your lyrics with the class.

(2) In your post you must justify why each event/person/etc. is significant enough to include in the song.

(3) Include a link to an image, video, chart, or visual that goes along with your lyrics.

(4) Leave a thoughtful comment on two other group's post.

**For all research besides your attached link, just use the sources under "Research Links".
